Why Breathing Is So Important

Breathing is essential

You need to breathe fresh air all the time. It is essential for your survival. You can well live without food for a few weeks. Many people do this in a willingly act to abstain from food, called fasting. You can also survive without water for some days (which won't be so good for your health). But without fresh air you will die after a few short minutes, or at least your brain will suffer severe damage. The reason for this is that the body, especially the brain, needs huge amounts of oxygen to function. And furthermore the body has no mechanisms to store oxygen.

So the oxygen in the air is absolutely necessary for your life. Fresh air is life energy. You breathe in to supply your body with fresh energy. And you breathe out to free your body of carbon dioxide.

Luckily we usually don't need to pay attention to our breathing as it works totally automatically.

Breathing under pressure

If you're under pressure your natural breathing changes. As part of the "fight or flight" response you breathe faster, not so deep. Or you may have the feeling not to be able to breathe at all. If this happens sometimes there's no need to worry. It is an all natural reaction of the body.

But it's all too common in our modern world to have high stress levels over a longer period of time. So your body will experience these changes in breathing quite often. Therefore your body's supply with fresh air will be slightly lower than necessary. What follows are the typical stress symptoms like muscular tension, headache, problems to fall asleep or depression.

Breathing to relax

Fortunately your breathing is a body function you can control easily. And so it is easier to calm down and relax as you may think. Simply find the time to do the following easy exercise:

Just sit down.Close your eyes.Watch as your breath flows in and out of the body.Pay attention to where you feel the breathing. Can you feel the breath at your nose as the air flows in and out of the nose? Can you feel your breast or belly move up and down as you breathe in and out?Just watch your breath flow in and out and do nothing else for at least 3 minutes. This easy exercise helps you to calm down and relax in a short span of time.

Another easy method to calm down fast is the seven-eleven breathing method.

Why Are You Having Breathing Problems?

Having breathing problems should be of a concern to each and everyone. Why are you having breathing problems? The problem isn't just in the outside world but much more what we have carried home and trapped there. Or could it possibly be in sinus cavities or something related. There is help. Using Ultraviolet Germicidal light in your home or work place would be a place to begin the control.

Filtering and ultraviolet irradiating of the air you breathe will stop the micro organisms that trigger your allergy reactions. Stop the bugs that make you miserable. Ultraviolet germicidal fixtures are proven to kill these microorganisms and much more. Think about just being able to Breathe easy again. Why should you allow your family to continue unable to breathe? Sometimes people are unaware that they are breathing moldspores.

Take control of mold dust, "small particles of moldthat has dried and turned to dust". When mold, mildew, dust mite and bacteria are allowed to release their spores, breathing disorders are going to happen. Fallow that with a costly visit to the doctor. Doctors warn against breathing in mold over long periods of time. Often times our homes and offices are infested with toxic mold and mildew. Doctors will tell you that air pollutant, dust mites, bacteria, fungus cause major breathing difficulties, memory loss, hearing loss and bleeding in the lungs.

Here are some signs of the dreaded allergies or asthma, itching eyes, coughing, wheezing, difficulty breathing, headache, and fatigue. With Ultraviolet light you can achieve extremely high disinfection rates, in terms of airborne viruses, bacteria and molds. High-intensity ultraviolet germicidal systems can effectively control the transmission of contaminants in indoor air. The lack of controlling dust, mildew and bacteria will contribute to tremendous costs in terms of illness, mortality, and lost days at work.

All this information continually shows up in medical journals, news papers and magazines. This is information that will help to relieve this major problem thru out America. Infection prevention using Ultraviolet Germicidal lamps could be your answer. And easily install, with twenty - four hour protection. Take control America and breathe easy.

For me once I realized the true signs of what to look for, the sticky eyes and a runny noise then making changes would be a matter of following a few guide lines. Determine if your allergies or asthma are seasonal or reoccurring thru out the year. There is a fine line here because both can be caused by the very same problem. By that I mean molds outside as well as indoors have the same dramatic effect on your immune system. Pollen from grasses and trees generally accrue in the spring to early summer.

Sometimes it will require medication to gain control, but most times controlling your homes indoor air completely stops allergies from pollen or molds. For me ultraviolet almost stop all signs of my itchy eyes. I like the outdoor, hiking, fishing and all the sports so I will have to pay for that wonderful part of life.

Learn the Exercise of Breathing

It's likely that as you go about your day, the last thing on your mind is how to breathe. If you have COPD including bronchitis, emyphysema or asthma, your doctor may have told you to do breathing exercises. Inhale, exhale. That's all there is to it, right? Not quite. As a therapy practitioner who teaches specific techniques, many people who have COPD are often surprised to learn that there is a medically preferred way to perform breathing exercises for increased oxygen saturation. If you have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, it's vital that you practice breathing exercises.

Improper breathing can come from something as common as having a stressful job. Being under stress causes a shallow, chest breathing style of inhaling. If you have ever had a customer service position where you have to tell the customer you can't deliver what your boss promised them, then you know what I mean. Serious stress.

Diaphragmic breathing, a breathing exercise, won't come up very often in dinner conversation, but it's one of the best ways for reducing anxiety and fatigue from a day's activities. And it doesn't cost a dime. It's a simple process. Just sit in a comfortable chair and utilize deep breathing. Concentrate on filling your belly with air first, followed by allowing your chest to expand. The diaphragm is a muscle under your lungs and above your stomach. Extending it down towards your tummy is how you stretch it out and as a result, fill your lungs to their capacity. It's a good idea to be in a quiet place when doing this. Images of nature, hobbies or relaxing music will chase the anxieties away and replace them with hope, joy and fulfillment.

If you're on your lunch break, be sure to keep an eye on the clock because the next thing you know is you've dozed off and the boss is looking for you. No stress there! At night it will be easier to sleep and the degree of your sleep will be deeper resulting in feeling rested and alert to tackle your day. If you are feeling tense at night before going to sleep, try tensing up the muscles in the feet and release, followed by tensing your calves and release, next thighs and release. Keep going up through the abs, chest, shoulders, back and even your face. Remember to keep using the diaphragmic breathing technique the whole time. A friend of mine who uses this tells me she doesn't just sleep anymore. She just about passes out & wakes up a new person.

The human body is full of muscles. The food they consume is oxygen molecules in the blood. The more air you consume, the more oxygen molecules there are for muscles to absorb, produce more energy, and become less sore after a workout. Before they attached computers to car engines they didn't automatically adjust to higher altitudes when driving in the mountains. Your 300 horse power hot rod had all the performance of an Italian motor scooter. So perform breathing exercises all you can as often as you can and you'll feel like you're driving at sea level every day.

The best part is you don't need to see a doctor, get a prescription, pay a co-pay, or take breathing exercise lessons in a class. Drug companies want us to rely on their products to make our lives better. With information and a little practice, nearly everything we need to accomplish is tucked away inside of us just waiting to be utilized.
