Why Breathing Is So Important

Breathing is essential

You need to breathe fresh air all the time. It is essential for your survival. You can well live without food for a few weeks. Many people do this in a willingly act to abstain from food, called fasting. You can also survive without water for some days (which won't be so good for your health). But without fresh air you will die after a few short minutes, or at least your brain will suffer severe damage. The reason for this is that the body, especially the brain, needs huge amounts of oxygen to function. And furthermore the body has no mechanisms to store oxygen.

So the oxygen in the air is absolutely necessary for your life. Fresh air is life energy. You breathe in to supply your body with fresh energy. And you breathe out to free your body of carbon dioxide.

Luckily we usually don't need to pay attention to our breathing as it works totally automatically.

Breathing under pressure

If you're under pressure your natural breathing changes. As part of the "fight or flight" response you breathe faster, not so deep. Or you may have the feeling not to be able to breathe at all. If this happens sometimes there's no need to worry. It is an all natural reaction of the body.

But it's all too common in our modern world to have high stress levels over a longer period of time. So your body will experience these changes in breathing quite often. Therefore your body's supply with fresh air will be slightly lower than necessary. What follows are the typical stress symptoms like muscular tension, headache, problems to fall asleep or depression.

Breathing to relax

Fortunately your breathing is a body function you can control easily. And so it is easier to calm down and relax as you may think. Simply find the time to do the following easy exercise:

Just sit down.Close your eyes.Watch as your breath flows in and out of the body.Pay attention to where you feel the breathing. Can you feel the breath at your nose as the air flows in and out of the nose? Can you feel your breast or belly move up and down as you breathe in and out?Just watch your breath flow in and out and do nothing else for at least 3 minutes. This easy exercise helps you to calm down and relax in a short span of time.

Another easy method to calm down fast is the seven-eleven breathing method.

Doctor Choices Are As Important As The Right Insurance Plans

When ever you relocate or change health insurance plans you will find that you have to pick a new doctor all over again. This can be one of the most difficult processes because once you find a doctor that you like and feel comfortable with you really don't want to have to give them up, and really who would. The following are some steps to follow to help you find the right doctor more quickly once you find out what options your health insurance plan is offering as far as which physicians are in your group.

The logical approach would be to find an office that has several practicing doctors to choose from and after the transfer of records has been made, you can easily schedule an appointment with a different one until you find your new doctor. Plus, your records will already be on file, making this approach a no brainer. The new professional pool to choose from will make your transition less hectic and you won't have to deal with many of the headaches that many others have to deal with when they search for a new doctor.

You really have no way of knowing if you are making the right choice in a new doctor, until you schedule an appointment and meet with them face to face. Rapport is a powerful presence and it usually the way many doctor decisions are made by their patients. Use any medical problems you might be experiencing as a way to gauge how comfortable you will be if the doctor becomes your new doctor.

Building a relationship with your physical takes time to know if your decision was the right one. Only time will build the trust necessary to raise your comfort level, as well as make you more aware of their ability to treat your health concerns.

The best and easiest way to start you new doctor search, is to start in your own neighborhood. This will not only be convenient, but will also be close to a hospital. Also, you have the added benefits of being able to inquire with friends, family and neighbors about who would be the best choice for a new doctor without blindly trying to find a new choice on your own that can be very time consuming and frustrating.

Choosing your physician is similar to choosing your house, car, grocery store or bank; it is a very personal decision, and one that requires good information, based on more than just a referral. Your best friends doctor might not be your best choice, so you will need to schedule a few appointment to see if you would be comfortable with the doctor before making your final decision.
