Complete Process of Biological Packaging

For protective transfer of crucial biological agents it is necessary to have an enhanced biological packaging process done under stringent standards. There are various forms of biological products which include infectious particles of plants, animals and humans as well as multiple types of toxins which are produced by genetic materials or microbes. Such organic agents may be present in concentrated and purified cultures but may also exist in plenty of distinct types such as body tissues, fluids, sample of soils, solid substances and more. No matter what the form is, it is essential to carry every product in secured form for which an effective packaging process is of utmost relevance.

The main purpose of any sort of packaging methodology is to protect the products which are being shipped from getting reacted with chemicals and toxic substances present in air. So only biological packaging which is framed under rigid standards must be considered by professionals. The packaging must be done in such a way and must be strong enough that it enables easy transportation of crucial elements through all means i.e. air, water or land. There are some products which require certain minimum temperature level even when they are transported in order to protect them from getting spoiled and unsuitable for use. So, even this factor must be considered while carrying the packaging process for these products.

The basic requirements for any type of biological packaging process are that it should be a 'triple packing' process. This implies that it should be primarily receptacle, must be strictly water tight packing as well as totally robust from outer arena. In addition to this, there must be an 'Infectious Substance' label on every product packed in order to protect individuals from getting in direct contact with it. It must be a certified packing methodology and meet all prior tests outlined for it in the USPS, DOT, IATA and PHS regulations. Only after all these functionalities are properly met, a packaging is considered ideal to be used for shipment purposes.

A 'triple' biological packaging process is also required for all clinical specimens. One additional fact however, with packaging of such products is that they must be able to fulfill all performance based examinations and that the packaging must not leak even after carrying a '4-drop test'. Even the items which are employed for packing these materials must be highly powerful and free from all kinds of ill-effects such as leakages, breakages. They must be totally air tight units. Only if the packaging is able to meet rigorous standards, rough handling and can provide protection to hazardous materials from all other toxin materials, it is considered as highly suitable.

Transportation of biological materials poses greater challenges in comparison to shipment of chemical based substances. For this reason, it becomes essential that these products must be packed with highly qualitative and effective packing techniques only. Bottles, vials, rollers, crimps, aluminum seals are some of the items which are used for this process. No matter what product is to be packed, the complete process of biological packaging for it must be done with due diligence.
